Enoch Burk is teacher at Wilson’s Hospital School in Westmeath, Ireland. The principal of the school suspended him with pay for challenging her order to pretend that a male student was female.
When Enoch continued to show up for work anyway, the principal requested an emergency court order. Judge Michael Quinn then ordered Enoch sent to Mountjoy Prison for contempt of court.
Enoch was back in court today, and once again Quinn ordered him to be sent to prison for contempt. Enoch maintains that it would violate his religion to comply with the judge’s orders.
Wilson’s Hospital School in Westmeath is run by the Church of Ireland. The school grounds was the scene of the Battle of Ballinamuck in 1798.
The school has locked down their social media accounts and their website is currently offline for exceeding its allotted bandwidth.
