A major newspaper in Thuringia called for cooperation with the AfD, saying “the firewall against the AfD must fall.”
The newspaper’s opinion piece says isolation will only make the party even bigger. It says the firewall has failed to contain the party’s growth and is therefore no longer useful. It says that the success of the AfD is directly related to anger at the SPD/Green/FDP federal ruling coalition. In particular, anger over illegal immigration and arms deliveries to keep the Russo-Ukrainian war going.
