Steve Stockman was elected to the US Congress from 1995 to 1997 and again from 2013 to 2015. After that, a prosecutor convened four grand juries to indict him on campaign finance charges. He was convicted and sentenced to ten years, far more than a typical sentence. Donald Trump commuted his sentence in December 2020.
